This painting, inspired by a combination of many walks I've taken in the bush, captures an evening scene where fantails flit around catching their last feed, while the kiwi and ruru begin to think about their breakfast. The Guardians evokes the feeling of being cocooned by nature, offering a sense of safety and the comforting presence of the kaitiaki watching over you.
